Are you using heavyweight, sticky or shiny fabrics: such as plastic, vinyl, lycra, or faux leather?
Using a normal machine foot will cause the fabric to stick, rouche or skip stitches. Replacing this with a Teflon foot that has a coating will allow these fabrics to slide between the foot and the feed dog teeth without any issues.
